The Forgotten Zine Archive at A4 Sounds

On the 7th of February, we visited A4 Sounds studio and The Forgotten Zine Archive. We met with Tom Maher, who talked with us and discussed the archive. Tom laid out some examples of zines, which we examined and discussed. I was taken aback by how different all the zines were; some were more like diary entries, some were dedicated to punk, some simple animations or comics from the zine maker.

We were then introduced to Lou Walker, whose zines I had previously been looking at (Pepper Morrison being the name she used for the author of her zines). We discussed what we wanted to achieve by the end. It was suggested that we create our own zine under one communal thematic. Lou was interested in seeing the photobooks we had made the previous semester and we agreed to bring them in next time we met so she could have a look. We set a date for our next meeting.
